Our site has been optimized for mobile devices. What does that mean? If you have ever tried to use a website that isn’t optimized for mobile then you know that it is nearly impossible to use a regular website on a mobile device. It may not function at all. Some sites adjust their content to work better on a mobile device but that is also not the same as optimized.
Because our site is heavily trafficked and used by mobile users our mobile code has been written specifically for mobile users and is tested regularly against the MobileOK standards to ensure it will function on the greatest number of devices.
The following tips may help you with your particular device. There are so many devices, models, and versions that we cannot guarantee that every device will be able to access the full array of features on BorderTraffic.com. If you discover any helpful tips for your particular device please write to us and we will post it here for other users.
iPhone
On the iPhone, first select your border crossing. Once you reach the desired border map, select the location. The video will automatically load, please be patient, as the video will commence playing when loaded.
One Click Access
Following are the instructions to add this site to your iPhone or iPod:
1. Open the Safari Browser and navigate to URL http://www.BorderTraffic.com
2. The home page for the mobile version will open.
3. Enter your Email ID & Password. Check the box for "Remember Me" and then click the login button.
4. After you are logged in, click the "+" (Book Mark) sign at the bottom of your browser. You will see the following options:
- Add Bookmark
- Add To Home Screen
5. Select "Add To Home Screen"
That's it! Whenever you need to get back to "BorderTraffic" you can use your home screen icon. When you are done using the BorderTraffic.com website, simply close the browser or go to another site. Do not "Log Out" as this will require you to log in next time instead of having one click access.
BlackBerry
On BlackBerry devices first select your Border Crossing / Port. Then select a location from the list or map. You will have the option of “Play”, “Save”, or “Cancel”. The only way to see the video is to select “Save”. Once the video downloads, click the Menu key and click “Open”. The video will play on the player. If you want it to loop, while you are in the player mode, click the Menu key and then check “Repeat”.
On some BlackBerry devices we have seen an "XML error" in loading web pages. If you experience this, open the internet browser and click the menu button. Scroll down and select "Options" then "Browser Configuration". Scroll down to "Emulation Mode." Change this setting from "BlackBerry" to "Microsoft IE". Click the menu button and select "save". Use the back button to return to internet and this should allow you to load all web pages.
Windows Mobile
On any device using Windows Mobile OS, first select your Border Crossing / Port. Then select a location from the list or map. A downloads dialog will pop up and give you the options of “Yes”, “Save As...”, “Cancel”, or “Open file after download”. Check the “Open file after download” option and click “Yes”. The video should download and play on the player.
